I read in the latest TMMI that Tamiya are releasing a new big kit, any ideas anyone?
I would love the Hornet in 1/32 !
What do others think?

Nah, big F-18s are around already (Academy, Hasegawa, Revell(yuck!)). Gimme a Saab, ANY Saab[8D]
How about a better RF-4C or a late Model F-4E, or a G or a EJ or an F or an S?

The only new big kit I know of that Tamiya has announced is the 1/16 Leopard 2A6 (Ye Gads! A tank! Armor, even!).
I haven’t heard anything on the big aircraft front.
And as far as 1/32 Hornets go, it can’t get any better than the Academy Hornet. It is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the finest Hornet in any scale. Now, if Tamiya could release one at around 20 bucks USD, I might change my tune.
Are you sure you’re not mistaking some release info of Trumpeter’s as Tamiya’s? Trump has anounced a bunch of big 1/32 jets, like an Su-27, an A-7, and and an F-100.
We’ll just have to wait and see!
How about a retool of their F-14, or at least partial retool…
Knowing them , they would re tool the recessed panel bits and leave the raised panel bits alone.

Why oh why oh why can you get every obscure variant of a Panzer 4 or french wind-up inter war ride on mower - sorry - tank, but you cannot get a 1/48th canberra, TSR2 or a 1/32nd F8.
The only good thing about new stuff like the Vigi etc coming out now is that we will not be presented with a gash kit of Monogram standard, but hopefully a nicely moulded work of art - that is until I get my hands on it!
A 1/32 Halifax III would be be right up my alley.

I’m waiting on a 1/32 B-17.
I`m on the wait for a tamiya F-7 cutlass,F-9 panther and soforth in 1/48.

Didn’t Fujimi make a cutlass in 1/48? I have the 1/72 and while I cannot attest to the fit (I haven’t built it yet), the detail is very good.
Hobby Craft kitted the Cutlass in 1/48, but it takes a lot of work to make it presentable. It was one of their early releases and not one of their best. To my knowledge, thats the only injection molded Cutlass in 1/48. The Fujimi 1/72 kit is very good.
From Tamiya, I would like a 1/48 P-80 and F-100 at the same quality level as their P-47. Then, work their way through all of the Century series jets in 1/48.
