Tamiya Yamato Basic Kit

Hi Everyone,
This weekend I picked up Tamiya’s “Vintage” 1/350 Yamato basic kit, as a present to myself, and I’m looking for advice on aftermarket sets(wood decks, PE, 3-D)to enhance this first battleship build for me. Most of my ship builds lately have been either sailing ships or commercial/civilian ships. I’m not looking to build a “Show Stopper” just something nice that I can be proud of when I look at it on my shelf.

Hey Tom, not sure if you found anything, but I acquired a 1/700 Yamato and BNA in Australia was a big help for PE and aftermarket parts.

I’ve found that BNA is well stocked on Pacific and Hannants on Atlantic war themed builds. So depending on the region of conflict the model served in, I go to that supplier.

Thanks Nomads! I’ll look into "BNA"and “Hannants” for some PE for my Yamato build. Unfortunately, with the current mail/shipping/tariffs crisis it may have to be put on “hold” for awhile.

I have one built about 20 years ago,I did mine out of box, look forward to yours.

squadron.com has photo etch and wood decks for your model, as well as brass barrels. modelmonkey.com has some 3d printed stuff.
