Maybe I’m just being dense, but I can’t get these things to work. It’s those little 3-color packs that looks like a makeup kit, I bought one of each set and I tried to add some dirt and oil stains to a dirt track racer I’ve built, but the little applicator thing wouldn’t even TRY to pick up any of the powder whether I tried to use the brush or sponge end. Am I doing somthing wrong? Do I need to mix it with somthing? I tried searching on the forum, and read everything I could but most of it seemed to just be oh yeah they work great… and it looks like it on other’s models, but I can’t get it to do anything… [D)]
Try wetting the applicator with water. I got my best results that way with them. Straight off the little compact they did not go on so well. But with a wet brush or moistened sponge they started to do what I wanted. It takes a bit of experimentation with this stuff.
I use a old wide paint brush, cut the bristles down so they are stiff then it works like a charm.
