I know the DML has the best kits on the market now, and I know the shape of the Tamiya Tiger 1 turret they say is incorrect, but that aside, are the Tamiya Tiger 1 and KT kits that bad?
No, they are quite excellent. My favorite kit that I built was Tamiya’s Tiger I Late. It gives you great fit and comes with a rarity-indies. No PE grille comes with it, which is important to me.
I have built Tamiya’s King Tiger and it is also a friendly put-together. I think DML’s is better, but it is recently newly tooled.
Can’t go wrong with DML or Tamiya, but Dragon gives way more for less $$$$$$.
the Tamiya kits are not bad at all !! They might be over priced compared to DML, but they are not bad.
I have just finished a Kingtiger from Tamiya and it was a great kit, no fit problems or anything.
Tamiya Kingtigers are great
there Early and desert versions have correct turrets and are also great
just wait till Dragons prices rise
Hello…
I have a correctly-shaped Tigermodels Early commander’s cupola and turret roof that fits perfectly on the Tamiya Early Tiger I kit turret…so the implication is that it must be the correct, asymmetrical shape.
