Looks good![tup] I especially like the dents on the side fenders.
Though I do have a question, what Tamiya Acrylic paint did you use?[?] I don’t know if it’s just me, but the green seems to look a little strange.
Thank-you
Basecoat was NATO Green but various filters, washes, and pigments
looks good.
lol I too was going to ask about the paint used. The green actually seems to look pretty spot on, from what I remember seeing in person. Sufficiently dark. I don’t know if its the effect of the flash or not, but some of the parts seem kind of semi-gloss almost.
I like it. Tracks really wake it up.
As I said over in the Cold War thread-- it looks great!
After being able to take a better look at it now, I’m even more impressed! The Tracks look awesome, as well as the exhaust, I really like the rusty/corroded effect you achieved.
5 stars from me![8D]
Chris,
EDIT: duplicate post, sorry
Nice job. Only suggest I have is hit with some Dullcoat. Looks a little bright to me.
Otherwise… GREAT WORK!!!

looks good, but a few things stand out. why do you have a decal on the Spot light? and the barrel manlet cover which is fabric probably wouldent be painted green , more or less a flat black or brown.
Thanks for the advice about the mantlet cover,I probably should have tried to use tissue or something, but as far a the spot light it has a cover on it and the decal is on the cover as per Tamiya instructions and Steven Zaloga’s T-72 refrence.
The light covers are a favorite location for the unit banner on T72s. I also see the rubberized mantlet covers painted a similar cover as the tank itself, so IMHO, he’s OK there…
Everybody…thanks for the compliments, tips andvice, and encouragment, well appreciated to have a forum to cover these things.
Thanks…Anthony
A really nice tank that we don’t really see much of here, Anthony!
Is this the same kit that is marketed as an Iraqi T72? It’s “unusual” to see it in Russian markings!
Looks good though, to be sure–can’t wait to see more of your work!
Thanks Doog…it means a lot coming from a modeler of your caliber, yes the kit had alternate parts and markings for an Iraqi and an East German machine.
my bad dident see the light cover ![]()
