tamiya t-62a tank

Is this kit any good? What are it’s strengthes and weaknesses?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? Depends on your definition of “good”. I’ve built Tamiya kits that were molded in 1971 and were gems (the original Sd.Kfz 223 radio car). His review is pretty well written, so you can decide for yourself. Good luck.

I am currently building it…check out my thread.

It’s like most tamiya kits…pretty good fit, the underside of the fenders is chock full of ejector pin marks. My kit didn’t come with the engine screens…I just had to go out and buy some that looked like it, no big though. There is a shovel molded onto the left side fender that is in a hard place to get off, it just looks funky, again, no big. From what I’ve heard it’s not to terribly accurate, but I like it.

IMO it’s a good kit and I’ve enjoyed building it so far.

The turret is improperly shaped…

The leading edge on the incorrect one on the right is rounded under. There are some other issues with the turret also.
