Tamiya StuG IV indy link tracks?

Hi Gang:

I am almost finished with my build of the ol’ Tamiya StuG IV and I want to replace the vinyl tracks. I have looked into several options including Fruil and MK.

Fruilmodel offers several StuG/Pz IV varients including item #s ALT-03, 04, 05, 27, 28 and 83. I know they should be 40cm and with a solid horn but that is all I know. Any suggestions.

Also - where can I find them? Any recommended dealers?

Here are a couple of pics. It is built straight from the box. I will be adding a stowage rack and hopefully replacing the tracks.

Here is a record of the build so far.

Academy also makes a set for this kit. Far cheaper than the others. Check Squadron or Greatmodels for online dealers.

ALT-04 is for Panzer III infrastructure like StuG III family.

You may want to check Friul website and compare the supplied track to match which pattern match to which Friul.

I have ordered from discountmodels.com for sometime and had good communication and buying satisfaction.

Ben

I believe Tamiya makes Panzer IV indy tracks, though not as cheap as Academy. Nice looking StuG. Keep us up to date please.

I’m also working the same model and just last night I bought some Fruil links online. I looked at a couple places and mostly you have differences in prices and availabilty.

Greatmodels.com, if they don’t have them in stock they will have to special order them and that will take time.

MissionModels.com, fast shipper, nice price too, about $5.00 less that other places that I’ve seen. Availabilty might be a problem, but still its a good site.

Internethobbies.com, also fast shipper, fair price

Those sites are the ones where I usually get my track links from when I need them.

Enjoy!
