Here is the first post of an almost complete model I have ever done on here.

Comments welcome.
Please note weathering has not been done as yet, exhaust stains and oil leaks.



I hope to get many more finished and posted once I get out of the Army in 56 days :slight_smile:

I applaud you. I’m too chicken to even attempt a Spit, even though it is my fave plane. I think the cammo gives me nightmares. anyway, she looks great to me and everything looks in order. How did you think the kit went together? Recommend it?

You didn’t mention the scale but it appears to be the 1/48 kit. Excellent build & representation of the early Spitfire. Nice job on the painting & decals. Thanks for sharing.

tigerman I would give one a try if I were you, the Tamiya goes together nice though I would fix the upper wings to the fuselage first then add the lower section next time. Had a hell of a job getting the roots to come even. Tamiya even supply a camouflage drawing which you can scan or copy and cut out for a paper mask, which I did. All I added was a set of Edguard Seat belts.

rjkplasticmod yes its the 1/48, working on a Hasegawa Nurricane MKI and Tamiya BF 109 E ro make the start of a Battle of Britain Collection.

Awesome Spitfire!

It’s one of my favorites, like the camo too. I have a little 1/72 with the black/white scheme on the bottom, it’s really neat huh?
