Hi all, Well I found this in the stash, not even in a box just a zip lock bag. Upon finding this one I noticed I have another with the field cannon, which were boxed together later on. The kit number on this is 45…LOL, any way this is a simple build and here is what I have so far.
Thats all for now and probably wont be any more photos till Monday. Taking off for a couple of day and heading to central Oregon for three days of hard core Salmon and Steelhead fishing with my brother.
Yes. I know you’ll be gone over the weekend but, with that brief break you’ll have this done in say another week! LOL. You animal you![:D] Enjoy the fishing brother, you deserve it![Y]

Well we all made it back safe and sound. We basically drove into a blizzard at Willamette pass but got through OK, It snowed for three days while there and I fished in snow up to my shins. It was so cold at one point I was trying to cast my fly line and was wondering what all the resistance was. I looked and all the line guides had ice on them …LOL, no fish as they just sweam passed looking at the presentation, I figured they were too cold to care…Heck I was, went back to the cabin and Johnny Walker and I got real close.
I must say I am a little disappointed. For someone with the kick a$$ screen name of M1 Carbine I am sadden to see you holding an AR. Just kidding of course (I build AR-15’s for a hobby). [;)]
Sorry to hear you had no luck on the fishing Bob but the Quad looks like it’s progressing nicely. Definitely adds new meaning to the term “room for four” in the back. [;)]
Looking very good on the Quad. I like the color on the body. Is it going to have the “Mickey Mouse” camo?I thought of you and your Quad the other day when I saw a train was passing though town. All flat beds loaded with about 2/3’s military trucks and the other 1/3 were Strykers. Some even with the remote weapon mount. I thought about one for myself and one for each of my friends. Snow or not that would have gotten you where you wanted to go.
Adam - No worries, you Dave and Edmond are on the smoked Salmon list.
FF - We went over to Sun River in Central Oregon (Bend). We could not get to any of the lakes being they were blocked with about 5 feet of snow, we stayed in Close to Sun River and fished the Fall River which is right there. Great steel head river as well. Some linkers swam by and looked at the presentation but they could care less at that point.
NH - Now you have done it, Ill have to take another pic with the all Winchester M1. That AR I am holding is part of my extensive Colt collection. That particular one is under the first 7000 made,l needless to say its my baby…along with everything else in the safe…LOL. Its primarily my target and coyote smasher, I use 45gr Hornandy V-Max for them…(maniacal laugh).
Bill - This was a fairly easy build, really nothing to the Tamiya kit and for its age, it went together like pie. The kit is still in production and still occasionally see it. The one boxed with the 25pdr is more common. I had a lot of fun with it and Im getting to really like these odd looking British vehicles. In the stash I have the old Peerless Bedford QL Gun Portee kit number 3509. I want to build this in the worst way but I have never scene it anywhere and I am afraid its one of these $500 collector pieces…to bad…its getting built…LOL.
Dave - My brother, I was thinking of you when we went passed Eugene. No Mickey Mouse camo, for some reason it just doesnt look normal but who am I to judge “normal”…LOL. Check your email tomorrow, or call me. Hmmmm…Stryker…Hunting…never mind[6]
Holy smoke! That squat beastie looks great. I like the dusty look. Dang, it makes me feel parched. What did I say? In about a week…[:D]. What else do you have lined up? Several I hope, otherwise you are going to be idle. I’d hate to see you idle. By the by, I finally did respond to your email.
Brother Dave - email recieved and responded to…LOL. Well actually after that I am basically weathering some models up for the show. I just finished weathering the M8 Greyhound, which I built about 9 months ago when getting back in the groove after 3 years. The KT will be on the bench next for some dot filtering and track work. The Stug III will get another blast of clear to make sure no shiny spots are left to kill another chance at a possible third place…LOL.
I am going to split the entries up with 2 OOB and two in the armor category. I was going to take the Stuka but I am really worried it wont travel well and I do not have adequate packing material for it. I was happy to here from another site that it will be a feature in about a week on their site.

Adam - I dont know why but for some reason I love the looks of the British vehicles. This one will be entered in the OOB category at the show next week. I got the mirrors on so it looks really good. Efficiancy…dont know about that…how about being out of work and having plenty of time to model and job search…lol. I need to get a hold of you this week, need some advice on rocks and paiting (NO not the ones in my head) You and Ed are my go to people for this due to you guys being the Masters and me just a humble student…LOL
This one came together pretty quickly Bob, nice work on the dusty beast! [Y] One thing’s for sure when it comes to British designs, it was definitely function over form as they produced some of the ugliest looking pieces of gear IMHO. [;)]
