Tamiya Pz II Almost done...

Eight days ago this kit looked like this:

5 evenings and most of today worth of work later this is where she sits:

Still some work to do… Have to finish and attach the TCs right hand and then paint the surrounding base black. The local show I’m trying to get it done for is Sat and I won’t have much chance to work on it tomorrow other than touch ups.

Thanks for looking.
Kenneth

The mud and snow looks great!!! 'Tis an amazing model indee, and the figure is very nice as well. How did you do that whitewash? Hairspray? The whitewash is one of the best I’ve ever seen- the wear looks perfect, and is always in the right spot. Nice job!

Im lovin that, it looks freezing and makes me shiver when looking at it. The figure with the cover over him is amazing. love the tank and the snow. [][][][][*]

Very nice work!

Excellent work [Y]. The whitewash looks great. Nice painting of the figure as well.

Regards, Rick

Thanks y’all… I have a few touch ups to do and some final painting for tomorrow. Going to a show with it on Sat.

Brilliant K-dawg. Love the muddy look.

Thanks Tigerman!..

The mud base was pigments and paint of course with MIG Wet Effects while the snow was Woodland Scenics snow mixed with Water/White Glue/Alcohol. I used Future mixed with the Woodland Scenics snow on previous projects but found out after about 2 years it’s yellowed and discolored badly. (the Future) So I switched the mixture around. Hopefully this will have more longevity.

Great work Kenneth!

Would like to see more WIP’s to show your weathering and whitewash process. Understandable as you intend to enter it in a contest so there was lack of time for pictures. Its best to continue once ‘in the zone’

I will watch out for your builds as you have a lot of skill and talent to share. [Y]

Thanks,

I didn’t really have time to post pictures. I painted this thing so fast and as you said stayed in the zone. I appreciate that you like it.

Btw, It did good at the show today.

Kenneth

I love your snow and want to build a snow-woman out of it and marry it…I also dig the fashion statement of the panzer commander…

Excellent work Kenneth, most convincing snow effect and that poor chap definetely looks cold.

Terry.

It really looks great, nice simple but effective base.Hairsray method for the whitewash ?? it came out looking real good.

Yes, It’s the “hairspray” method.

An update… TC has his right hand and i’m working on some rain effects. The rain effects are pretty hard to see in the photos though unfortunately.

GREAT WORK Kenneth like the umbrella cool.[Y]

Thanks Clay… I thought the umbrella was appropriate and an unusual touch.

again Kenneth great work my friend[Y] got to love the umbrella looks like he’s having an extra bad day[:D]

Clay

I think the snow looks amazing–not the usual white fluffy sotrybook snow you usually see, but slushy, sloppy, semi dirty real snow that a tank just drove over.

Very nice, can you post a bit about what you did to make is look slushy rather than fluffy?

Thanks

Bill

Outstanding work[:D[! Love the blanket and umbrella.

Got to agree thats some of the best snow I’ve seen. Please do tell[;)]
