I just wanted to make a quick note for someone in the present or future who may be building this kit. The kit is the Tamiya 1/35 German Panther Type G Early version with Eduard PE Zimmerit. It states in the Eduards portion of the directions that you need to modify the side skirts, but they aren’t very clear on what.
After many minutes of head scratching I have found that they are referring to pieces C-55, and C-27 which I am calling the “sideskirt supports” (This is my first tank, don’t shoot me if that is the wrong nomenclature!! LOL) There is one 90 degree tab on the supports that need to be cut to a 45 on both pieces. That is the whole extent of the side skirt modification. There are 12 little pieces that attach to the support, which I assume on the 1:1 is what the skirts are actually bolted to. At first I had thought those were the pieces needing modification, so I have put off building up the skirts…lol
I hope that someone can use this info to help make the build a bit smoother for them.
