Tamiya Panther G Late version question

Hi all,

I just started construction of the 1/35 Tamiya panther last night, and I was wondering if any of you that have built it before could answer a question for me. There is a seam line across the face of the gun mantlet, I was wondering if that was supposed to be there (i.e. it was there on the original), or if it is just a molding seam that should be sanded off? As nice as the detail seems to be on most of the parts, it seems odd that there would be such a big injection molding seam right in the middle of a part like that.

I’ve looked at a few reference photos, but cannot tell if the line should be there or not, as the quality of some of the original b/w photos isn’t so great.

Jeff

Its meant to be there
the Aberdeen Panther G has the same line

Jon’s right on. When I built mine last year I thought it was a bit too prominent so I sanded it down a bit then highlighted it a little during weathering.

Ok, thanks for the help and the quick answers guys!

Jeff
