Tamiya or Revell ?

I myself have always built A/C from American manufacturers. My thinking was, whys pend twice as much for the same plane? No way!

Well I have my first(actually second, the first one met an untimely demise) Foreign Aircraft kit. A Tamiya kit. I must say the difference is astounding. I’ve used nary a lick of putty on this thing. Only a couple of small spots on the fuselage. No putty on the wing roots whatsoever, and yu cannot see a seam. In all fairness I took a different approach by gluing the wing tops to the fuselage BEFORE I glued the lower wing into place. I just had to put a small it of putty at the rear where the lower wing mates with the fuselage. This kit is almost done. You can see the progress in another thread in this section. The BF109 E3.

Conversly I have three started but not finished revell kits sitting here. As well as one Academy in the same boat. I’m not far enough along in aircraft experience to finish these kits up yet. That and honestly I’m absolutely sick of sanding. For what it’s worth the Revell Delta Dart kit seems to fit a whole lot better then the Academy F16. My Revell A10 I don’t know if it will ever be completed, same with the Revell F4U. Fit is horrendous. The A10 at least seems workable, but not so sure about the corsair. I think I may have wasted my money on it.
