Tamiya Mosquito Mk. VI FB

I’m going to be building the above mentioned kit and I’m wanting to add an AM cockpit. I’ve seen one from True Details and Verlinden. Is there one that would be recommended over the other or another that I might have missed? Thanks for your help.

Chris

You didn’t specify a scale, but in 1/48 I’d suggest the Aires cockpit replacement. I’ve built 2 mossies with this set & it is very nice. It’s a little pricey, but excellent quality.

yes, it is the 1/48. I saw the Aires on Great Models for around $22. Never having bought an AM cockpit before, is this above average price? I ask because the Verlinden looks to have more detail but cost only $14. Again, thanks for your help.

Chris

Incidentally, History Channel’s having a 1 hour “Heavy Metal” show on the Mossie tomorrow night. Might be worth it with the sound on mute [;)]

The Aires set is more expensive, but inludes PE as well as Resin. I’m not a big fan of Verlinden, and I think the set they offer was actually designed for the old version of the Airfix kit.

Hi Chris

Look this link of a mosquito build with an aires cockpit set.

what time is the show on history?

Just saw the show-- amazing stuff. I was wondering if there were any 1/48 kits out there featuring the late model Mossies-- like the ones that carried the Highball and Cookie bombs, or the Tsetse variant with the Molins gun?
