Tamiya Me262A-1a Finished

Hi everyone,

Here is my latest. It’s the 1/48 Me262A-1a from Tamiya. I did this as part of Franks Reich Defender II Group build, you will find alot of excellent work over there. I used Gunze Aqueous plus a few Tamiya paints, used future for the first time. Panel lines are a mix of pro-modeler dark dirt and I also used some Lifecolor Tensocrom oil, just with a small brush. The seat harness is from MDC and I made a bit of a hash painting them but they look ok although a little dark. I had a couple of problems with the clear parts but that was me being being a bit dim and it was a lesson learnt.

This aircraft was flown by Major Rudolf Sinner of JG7 in March 1944.

I did the gunbay but decided I liked it better done up.

All comments are welcome, hope you enjoy and thanks for looking.

Cheers…

Beautiful finish on that bird, Mike. I like the clean look and the paint is fantastic.

Very nice, clean Build. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful butcher bird!

I already knew this stripe paint scheme and despite it comes with one of the optional schemes for tamiya kit, I had never seen build it. I was thinking to build mine the typical red 13, but now watching yours, it inspired me to build the stripe one too.

Great build and paint job! I love it!

Spike, gorgeous build, love it!!!

Stunning build Mike! [:D[

Great work! That is a cool build.

Simply a gorgeous build Mike, love those stripes. I have to admit, seeing yours is really giving me the urge to build one of these striped birds too. Very well done!

Excellent build with a stunning paint job.

Thanks everyone for your very kind comments. I’m glad you all like the striped scheme, I only found one other example of this aircraft on the web so thought it a bit different, plus it only had a little bit of mottle!

I really appreciate you looking,

Cheers…
