Tamiya M4 interior from Verlinden question

I have this kit and interior I plan on building as part of my first dio. But the instruction in the Verlinden interior add on kit are somewhat lacking. Has anyone used this add on? And if so any suggestion on what to watch out for? I am mostly wondring why the instructions state that I have to cut of part of the Tamiya kit that will in the end be covered by the transmission housing.

Many of Verlinden’s old kits are pretty “iffY”–I would make absolutely sure that you dry-fit everything first (!) and then hold off on cutting anything until absolutely convinced it’s necessary.

Verlinden interiors used to be the “hot” items back in their day, but several of the ones I have used farily recently have proved to be rather lacking in accuracy, and detail. Do your research!
