Tamiya M1A1 3 tone camo

I built this OOB nice little kit i dont no if it accurate but iam not into that i just like to build. like i said oob i added the spare track to the brusl rack and a spare road wheel there are also two empty water bottles in the rack and added thhe spare sprockett.

Looks good so far Rob. It may be the lighting, but the brown looks a little on the red side, but I’m sure it will tone down a little when weathered.

You may notice the inside of the track shoes have a slightly raised section where the road wheels ride - these are actually rubber pads and should be dark grey.

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

PS: It looks like you’ve built this as an M1A1, not an M1A2.

Thanks Phil_H this one is not getting weatherd. As for the paint yes it is a little red i used Tamiya Ts colors as called for but i know they can be wrong, i shure wish i knew that about the tracks, seems like i always get the info after the fact[BH]

Hey Rob,

Even if it’s not extensively weathered, just some pin washes to bring up the detail and a light dusting would make a world of difference. It’s worth thinking about. [:)]

ill think about it thanks. thanks for the input.

Looking good on the camo, Rob, but I would have to say that the tracks are waaaay too rusty for an in-service M1a1. These should probably be a more metallic color. I would slop 'em up with some heavy dirt; it would loook much better than that harsh rust tone you’ve got going there.

thats what i thought till i seen this

That one’s been sittin’ a spell… Pretty typical for a MATES track that doesn’t get used but about 4 months outta the year…
