Tamiya Fw-190A8 - Last build of 2009

Good day everyone,

This was my last build of 2009, the 1/48 scale Fw190A8 by Tamiya. As should be no surprise to anyone, this kit is full of detail and goes together without any headaches. I painted the bird with Vallejo Model Air acrylics and used the kit decals to recreate the steed of UO. Ernst Schroder.

Thanks for viewing!

Nice…I just picked up this kit, yesterday. I found it in a clearance bin at a bargain price. I couldn’t pass it up. Thanks for sharing.

Outstanding! …Zooming in on the canopy, It has such a fine clear line with crisp detail. Great looking build for sure!

Now…by all means, I’m not truly a detail freak. BUT this is the one and only thing that sticks out for me: If the canopy is open…doesn’t that mean the antenna wire should be sagging?

Nicely done, your Butcher Bird is a real gem. Your paint work is especially noteworthy.

sk3tch- The early (non-blown) hood on the FW-190’s like this one had a tensioning mechanism to keep the antenna taught when the hood was opened.

…Shows what I know! Awesome build. I know that for sure.

I like that a lot. Going to have to give those paints a try.

Simply Beautiful. Well Done [Y].

Great job on this one! Your painting skills are spectacular.

Good day Mis Amigos,

I certainly appreciate the kind words. Since my return to modeling I’ve developed an affinity for the Fw-190 and this kit is a real gem. I recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

Thanks again and happy modeling!
