Working on this one for a review for AMPS…has been a very pleasurable build so far. I have some AMMO Red Oxide primer on and will be doing the French scheme instead of the captured one.
The figures include a half figure of a German driver and a full French figure…I love Tamiya’s newer figures- fit is impressive and there was little of any mold lines to remove…
Off to a good start on this one Jeeves. That figure looks like it’s got some really good details. NICE!!
Looking forward to seeing what you’ll be doing with this one.
Looking good Jeeves. I agree with you about Tamiy’a newer figures being so much better than their previous figures. This kit is definitely on my “To Buy” list.
Looks like a fun build. I think I may want to do one of the few the Israelis used in 1948.
That sounds like a very cool project…they’d still be olive greenish or OD that early, correct?
I would think so, but I’d check. The only pics I’ve seen show them in one solid color, but hard to tell in black and white…
An Israeli Cromwell is on my to-do list and I think that would be in it’s original British green, again not sure.
Yeah I dont think they adopted the sand gray until right around the start of the 1967 war…I look forward to seeing your Israeli H39!
Nice work so far. The kit is going to be a must buy for me when its finally starts showing up.
Thanks-- it was a quick and enjoyable build!
Looks great, Jeeves. Especially the weathering.

Jeeves, this looks fantastic. Your weathering and the fading looks so realistic. Great job!
Thanks guys…I appreciate you looking!
Filthy! I love it!
If you don’t mind, can you share a little about your weathering techniques? I’m assuming oils?
I used AMMO Oilbrushers to add the dot filtering for the base hues and then I used Mig pigments applied to the road wheels and under hull and set them with Tamiya thinner as per Mike Rinaldi’s techniques.
Thanks!
As I’m mid-process on a similarly-colored bit of armor, it’s great to see such an excellent result. I’m using Abteilung502 oils instead of the AMMO products, but also kinda-following the TANKART method.
Looking forward to seeing it! I’m just lazy at times and hate the wait while the linseed oil leeches out of my oils. The Oilbrushers are easier for me…just dots of various shades on a side at a time…then some barely damp Turpenoid streaked down and easy peasy.
