Hoping someone here can answer this… Besides the “bumps”, since I’m not sure what they would be called, is there any major differences between parts A9 and A10? I started building this kit years ago before my divorce, and during the packing /moving to storage /moving home /unpacking, tiny little A10 seems to have been lost, but looking thorough the instructions, it seems like sweet old A9, with a slight little bit of sanding, could step up and be put to use since it seems to be an “extra part” not called for anywhere else that I can find.
Can anyone that’s built this kit please let me know? It’d be greatly appreciated!
Those are the exact two I’m asking about. The instructions call for A10, which would be the one on the right in that picture, but it’s lost somewhere in the last 5 years or so . I can’t find any steps that call for the other one, so I was hoping someone that built the kit could let me know if the other one is used anywhere or if I could sand it to match and use it…
If the one on the right is the one that is lost and the left one remains, just sand it smooth and finish the kit. If it’s the other way around then it’s builders choice to use the smooth one in place of the ribbed. If it were me, I wouldn’t put to much into it and use what I had and it will look just fine either way.
Michelle, while I do not have the kit you have, I suspect the 2 pieces you are wondering about go right in front of the cockpit, right? If so, the one with the 4 little antenna was an add on for the air defense variant and can be sanded smooth for use on the F-16C you are building. Wlecome, and please post pictures of your progress.

Michelle, if you need any other extra parts for that kit, pm me. I started on mine and am frankly underwhelmed at the fit. It’s now become a permanent resident of the SOD and I’m giving the second one in the stash the hairy eyeball.
After the joy of two of Tamiya’s Tomcats, this one was a real bummer.
Sadly, it rains way more than I care to admit, but I love it here. Most of the time I can plan my outdoor stuff around the rain, but it’s these scattered showers that drive me crazy, especially when I get excited about something.
Maybe it’s just that I’m not as experienced as most here, but I think the fit on my Tamiya kit is pretty amazing, compared to the the other one I’m working on. I do appreciate the offer, but I seem to have the rest of what I need to finish as far as I can tell. I’ve went through the directions while waiting on the weather and separated the parts out for each step and put them in their own little baggies… Just a waiting game now…
Michelle, I was a crew chief on F-16 early in my career. I’m not sure what parts your referring to based on numbers. Are you able to provide a pic of the instructions? --Mike
Try their F-14 and you’ll probably see what I mean. The part that’s giving me fits is the IP hood. Big gap between it and the front where the nose of the canopy comes down. I thought it might be that the locater tabs were off but after snipping them off, it didn’t get any better.
Dang shame because I really wanted to have my canopy open. Back to the Hasegawa kits, I guess.
