Howdy. Here is the 1/48 scale Tamiya F-51D. Finished with Tamiya AS-12, and the kit decals. Just a neat OOB fun shake and bake build. Hope you like.

Stay Safe.
Very nice.
Nice job. I dig the markings.
Sharp F-51
Good looking Korean 'Stang.
Good looking build, what’s the difference between a WW2 P-51D and a Korean War P-51D? Just markings?
Normally a tank modeler and I know the difference between a Desert Storm M1A1 and a Operation Iraqi Freedom M1A1.
Nice clean build. Looks great. Congrats.
Thanks folks for the kind words, very much appreciated☺
Rob,
Yes. The only difference is the markings and ordinance. The Mustang was recalled from Guard units Stateside and sent to Korea, not as a fighter, but as a ground attack aircraft. It’s fifty cals, ability to carry a decent amount of ordinance, loiter time, and ability to operate off unimproved airfields gave it a distinct advantage over the jets of the day. This was especially helpful at the beginning of the war when most the jets had to fly from bases in Japan.
Nice job kustom!
