I’ve just tryed to put my decals on my North American P51 mustang 1/72 but the stupid things wrinkled on me …bugger them [banghead] I’ve applyed pledge one go (future) and then let it cure for 24hrs I also tryed setting solution but that didn’t help .
I did notice that someone else had a proplem with them only after I tryed to put mine on to late…
Does anyone know if there is a After market decals for the 361FG 375FS for Urban L. Drew plane I want to match the decals that were supplied with the kit …any help is much appreciated
cheers mike
i usually don’t use kit decals , i generally try to go with aftermarket (too many problems), you may want to let the future cure for 48 hours , i always let it cure that long and just about everything i’ve read says the same. there is a website , flightdecs.net i believe , not certain though , and they carry all kinds of aftermarket decals. maybe somebody could help with the website because i’m not sure if thats correct.
its not flightdecs.net its, www.flightdecs.ca , sorry about that
Thanks Bowser for the link thats a great site . You say 48hrs drying time . Ok I’ll give that a go [tup]
None of them seam to have the one I’m looking for . I didn’t want to change the paint scheme on it but it looks like I may have too. Now the focus is to find some decals and then repaint the model to match…
cheers mike
How do you mean they wrinkled?
When I put my decals on, then hit them with Set or Sol, they always wrinkle, but then after an hour or so they settle down.
If not, I just bang more Sol on them
tweety I know they wrinkle when you put them on especially when you put decal setting solutions on , but they have been on for several days now and I’ve tryed several types of decals setting solutions but to no avail…I must have a dud set , or I just stuffed up somewhere[B)] maybe as Bowser stated I didn’t let the pledge one go enought time to cure . The setting solutions used are micro sol and aero set II
cheers mike.
You could try Walther’s Solvaset , its the strongest setting solution I know of. But if your decals have been on for a couple days I don’t know if its going to have much effect. www.walthers.com
Sorry Mike, but you may be right in getting a dud batch.
I allow my Pledge to cure for 24 hours before I decal the model, and between OEM and A/M decals I havent had any problems like you are having.
I had the Pledge go milky on me a couple of times using setting agents, but after brushing some more pledge over the decal, all was well.
Thanks for your input guys , I’ve started to remove them now luckily I only applyed 2 decals on so it shouldn’t take much to remove them , I hope …[X-)]
cheers mike
