Tamiya DAK Panzer IV

Hi all,

here’s my latest build. Happy with it. Critique as much as you like - I need to learn as much as I can!

That looks very nice. Great weathering. Some dust and dirt effects is the only thing I would add, the work is excellent.

dazzjazz,

Great looking Panzer IV! I really like the chipping that you did. Well done!

It looks great! Tamiya calls that an early “G” variant but most references identify it as an “F2”. Which kit is it?

Thanks Bill, it’s the Tamiya 1/35 German Tank Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. G

It’s funny. The Germans themselves called it the F2 , eventually changing it to an early G. It’s the same tank. The British didn’t care; they referred to it as the Mark IV Special. Either way, it was a great tank!

Looks quite the well-used Panzer to me. [Y][Y][Y]

Just enough ‘dings,’ wear and weathering. Even in the brutal desert conditions, most German units…and the Panzer Korps tended to have as high a morale as any…worked hard to keep their kit in as well-maintained condition as circumstances would allow. Yours fits that bill admirably.

Great work!

Many thanks for the kind comments everyone…will keep at it.

Looks great, also really like the chipping youve done. Only thing I’d do would be a pin wash before chipping and weather the tracks more.

Looks great to me! Really nice work on the weathering, she looks like veteren desert warrior!

Only thing I might add is if you’re going to pose the hatches open is maybe stick a figure in there.

I can dig it. Unless I missed it maybe drybrush the high spots on the tracks, sand is an excellent abrasive. Also the guide teeth, I forget them to so no room to sqwak from me. All in all an awesome build and completion. Well done.[Y][Y]

Nice Mk IV ausf F2? Your weathering is very, very good. I especially like your water jerry cans.

yes tracks do have highlights on the tracks, they’re not really coming through on the photographs. Thanks.
