It would seem that gloss black is the preferred base for Alclad on NMF aircraft? Does anyone forsee any issue using Tamiya Acrylic gloss black as a base for Alclad, provided its given enough curing time? If it makes any odds, this is for an all NMF 1/72 B-58.
I have used Tamiya acrylic gloss black as a base for Alclad II with no ill effects. I have also used Future as a base and that worked well too. [tup]
Personally, I would use Gloss black Krylon decanted from a can, although I have had good results with Humbrol enamel gloss black. I had a bad experience with Alclad and acrylic undercoat, where the undercoat was left to cure for a month, and the Alclad still cracked!
