I’m considering buying this particular kit. Being quite new to modelling, I’m usually happy to build oob (except maybe for am decals) for now. However, on Tamiya’s kit,flaps and slats are apparently not extended. I was wondering what am resin kits would be good to put them in the correct position? I’m not particularly interested in interior am parts, except maybe for a seat with seatbelts. Any pointers?
For a seat I can highly recommend Ultracast seat with belts. I have one in my stash. As far as flaps and slats, Cutting edge used to have a set, but good luck finding it. Aires is now your only bet. Keep in mind, chances are they will come warped, and the surgery is fairly involved. Good luck.
The Ultracast seats is just what I had in mind, and I will have to look into Aires. So you think the surgery is difficult for a resin novice? That’s too bad. On the one hand, I don’t want to ruin a nice kit, but on the other hand, the planes just look better with the flaps/slats extended… 
I wonder why Tamiya didn’t give a choice for the position of these parts…
Its been awhile since I’ve ready build logs where the modeller does this surgery. You have to cut the slats out, then blank them off with your own plastic card, even before you can glue on the resin. All I remember is it was a pain ITA for the builder. I’m not saying its impossible or not to do it, just giving a heads up. I’m still struggling with resin control surfaces my self, and I’ve done them a dozen times or so. Just so very little plastic to work with in those areas.
Verlinden makes a set of control surfaces for the Me-262. Idk how easy it is to use or what you have to cut out but I’ve seen them around. You might wanna try ScaleHobbyist.
