Tamiya 1/48 Jagdpanther WIP

Hello all,

I thought I would post a couple of pics of what I have been working on for you to take a gander at. As the subject line says, this is the 1/48 Tamiya Jagdpanther. This is still a WIP as a lot of the fiddly bits still need to be added and such as well as some weathering. Overall, it has been a real enjoyable experience. It was the second model I have used my Badger 155 on and I am pretty happy overall. Not too bad for mostly craft paints! I did have a little trouble with joining the hull and had to go back after painting and add in some filler, do some sanding, and a little touch up. The tracks were a bit of a pain as well as they are not glued to the wheels. I built the tracks in chunks lain on the wheels and after the glue set I added more until I had a top half and bottom half. Painted them up and then glued them together around the wheels. It was a good idea in theory but they don’t ‘hang’ and are VERY delicate.

Looks good from here Mike although pics are a little small to be able to see much in the way of detail. Nice camo pattern on the 1/48 JP. [tup]

Thanks!

Yeah, I can’t quite get the whole ‘posting pics’ thing to work out right for me. I tried cutting and pasting both the URL and HTML and neither worked so I just dragged and dropped the photos over from Flickr but, as you noticed, the pics are very small!

From what I can make, it’s a clean build with a very nice camo scheme. I’ll wait for better pics, so I’m tuning in to this JP.

Lookin’ good Mike. I agree… camo looks well done.

Thanks so much!

Yeah, overall, I was pretty happy with it. There is a bit of a bad patch at the front as I painted the upper and lower halves seperately and didn’t do a good job of lining up the pattern. I figure it was just a lazy, somewhat ill trained crew!

Looks good from where I’m sitting. Glad your have fun on it.
