nice work, I like the way the engine panels are ill fitting, just like real Russian aircraft (even MiG 21s are like that, we have one at the airport near us!) did the kit come like that, or did you do that yourself
Nice looking IL2, got to get that kit. They say you had to approach those from behind and beneath to try and take out the oil cooler. Was the chipping with a Prisma silver pencil?
Looks good cnq. I too like the sloppy fit of some of the panels. Very realistic. Some day I want to do an IL2 in 1/32 scale. Imagine the size of that! I love the IL2, It’s just simple, raw machinery like most Soviet stuff.
I picked up a 1/72 scale Zvezda IL2 dirt cheap awhile back just to throw in the spares box. Many parts have already found their way into a few of my builds The RP ordinance will work well when I finally retro fit my old Boba Fett’s Slave I with a missile launching bay.

Thanks very much guys for the comments. I built this kit straight from the box and did not changed/modified anything. The only thing extra was the pilot seat belts I made from aluminum foil. The chipping was done using a small piece of copper wire dip in flat aluminum paint, make sure you test it on a piece of paper first before applying on the model to avoid using too much paint.
