Tamiya 1/48 Hetzer and Academy 1/35 Sheridan pics

That Academy Sheridan picture has my wallet nervous. [:D] I’ve waiting for a decent Sheridan.

im not bothered with 1.48th armour but its good to see Academy are out there thinking of us 1.35th builders
the Sheridan looks good, i wonder if the M3 Grants are coming soon

I am with you, I am not big on the smaller armor. I cannot wait for the Sheridan, but I am a little nervous based on my experience with the Academy Stuart. What I found strange about the Hetzer is you would assume Tamiya would use their own paints to paint their models, right? Their “red-brown” does not look like that (and that is the color they always call out in the tri-color scheme). Seems like Hull Red or a miz of Hull Red and Red-bown, doesn’t it?

Tamiya like to give mixing ratios in there paint instructions too and they also like to bring new colours out, but there always in new smaller jars or airosol cans

Thanks for the links!
I picked up the little hetzer two weeks ago at a hobby event. Nice, but tiny. Like a 1/72 Tiger II!
The Sheridan is supposed to be released here in Japan sometime in February.
We shall see!

If you get the Sheridan, let me know what you think. I am waiting for Eduard’s 1/35th Hetzer myself.

Ooooh, that Sheridan looks very nice. With Academy’s recent releases, it should be a nice kit.
No interest whatsoever in the smaller scale armor, and I’m hoping that Tamiya realize the errors of their ways with these little kits.

That Hetzer looks like a beaut. I’m looking forward to picking it up. Not really interested in the Sheridan, kind of an obscure vehicle. Typical of the bottom dredging the 35th manufacturers have to do these days to release new product. That, or the 300th Tiger I kit, that is.

Can’t wait to see the T34 and the M10! I hope they concentrate on this scale from now on, and leave the railway guns and the german wet-dream projects to Dragon and Trumpeter.

The Hetzer will be on my must have list.

Regards, Rick

Same here! Did I mention the M-36, too? Hopefully they’ll do some modern armor, too.

The Sheridan, however, is a pretty popular vehicle, Larry. Lots of folks have been waiting a loooong time for a good 1/35 kit to replace the ancient Tamiya offering or the expensive resin kits. I’m looking forward to it!
Those Lees and Grants, too…let’s hope!

Perhaps. It always reminded me a bit of the Me-110, kind of an oddball not really up to the job it was designed for.

Looks great, Tamiya is up to about 15 kits in 1/48 armor now and other 3rd part vendors are starting to offer figures & accessories too. Very excited about this scale in armor.

I’ve mentioned the Tamiya “Sheridan” probably more then once, but I was wondering if there are any PE, or after/market accessories out for that beast? I haven’t really taken the time to search for anything yet, just thought maybe one of you out there might have had some experience detailing the "Sheridan? Semper Fi, mike

On Greatmodels, the “cross-reference” feature shows only the 1/35th kit. No PE. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, though, just that it may be hard to come by

Eduard did a PE set for Tamiya’s Sheridan.
I want the new Academy Sheridan, been waiting for years for a good model of it.

I suspect that there probably isn’t much of anything out there for the “Sheridan”, It really wasn’t that prolific a kit when Tamiya had theirs out. Perhapes with the possible release by Academy of a version, we’ll see some AM stuff. Semper Fi, mike

I looked on Squadron and EBAY too for the Eduard set. No luck. Might be OOP

jason, what’s the scoop on the eduard hetzer… i haven’t heard about it? what kind of kits does eduard make, resin or plastic?

It’s plastic. They are doing an early and a late and then a kit with both. They are supposed to have a full interior and engine too. Check out this link. Click on Eduard
