Absolutely beautiful build [tup]. The buildup is fantastic and the weathering is near flawless.
And your photography work is top notch. Got any tips for lighting, camera settings, etc?

Dude… what?! Nice model. Better than anything I’ve done! Your dad must have taught you well! Make sure you keep posting here, it’s great to see such good work!
Simply excellent build and photography. Wow!!! That’s a beautiful Corsair.
What’s next on your bench?
Thanks again for all the kind words everyone!
Next on the bench is Tamiya’s 1/72 BF 109E4/7 Trop with a True Details cockpit. It’s actually almost complete - gloss coated up and getting decals today. I’ve decided that 1/72 is not for me and I can’t wait to get back to 1/48 haha
Absolutely beautiful!
I am also returning to the hobby after a rude intrusion of life, but for me it’s more like a 20 year hiatus… I can only dream of achieving results like that. Since the Tamiya F4U-1A is first up for me, too, I’d most certainly be very appreciative if you could share your full weathering technique. I’ve got a lot to learn - I was prety much only an armor modeler before, but now I am committed to aircraft. The heavy washing and drybrushing I used to use just won’t cut it, if I want results that look anything like yours.
Edit - d’oh! I see you already linked to a detailed build thread on the first page. My bad - I got distracted looking at your in-progress blue painting shot.
Hahaha. That is a good way of putting it. Life does tend to intrude and I too am getting back into the hobby.
The corsair is beautiful! I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours. Keep building and keep posting. I look forward to seeing more. Nice photography too btw. I’m new to the airbrush thing, so I’m going to give it a shot.

Jason that’s a sweet looking Corsair congrats on a great build [tup][tup]. Also, welcome to the FSM forum and keep those posts coming.
Cheers
No criticism from me, I can only echo all the positive comments you received so far and add an extra awesome, great job.
Thanks for posting.
Excellent work. Welcome to the forum.
Both the Corsair & Mustang are superb! The panel lines and weathering look great. Look forward to more pics and maybe some tips.
Tom
