I was wondering if anybody knew if a kit of Tamiya’s 1/350 Yamato is still the same as the same kit from 1979. I found one dated 1979 cheap and if no changes were made in the kit I’d like to get this one. Thanks!
Same kit as far as I know…

Yes, If it is Yamato 1:350 must be the same kit.
I don’t know when Tamyia had realeased Yamato 1:350, i’ve bought my YAMATO in 1992.
Most likely the molds have been updated several times since 1979. Molds do not last forever and will begin to wear after a few thousand kits have been created. Tamiya has a high standard of quality and probably replace their molds frequently adding in any corrections and/or improvements to details
Skippy, if you are wondering if the kit now captures the changes in shape to the hull that are in the beautiful new Tamiya 1/700th scale kit, I don’t think they do.
But the big kit is so impressive, no one cares!
