I’m detail painting the rear deck of this kit. What color are all those rods supposed to be?Metallic, or are they supposed to be wood?I’d greatly appreciate any input fellas.
Thanks

Wood, with aluminum or steel tips.
They were gun cleaning rods.
Thanks doog. How about the thingy that actually scrubbed the bore? What color would that be?
Also, would it have been at all possible for the 5th Panzer Division to have had access to this vehicle?I have some cool decals I’d like to use.
C’mon guys.Somebody has to know this stuff![BH]
I can’t give you a DEFINATE answer as per the exact model used, but this link:

Michael
Thanks Mixael.A guy on another forum gave me the same info from the same source.I’m good to go.
Hey TD–sorry; I’ve been “at the bench”! [;)]
That thing would have been a tan color. Paint it tan, wash it with raw umber; that’s what I always do!
That’s the only acceptable excuse doog.I’ve been at the bench all night as well. The bore scrubber is the last detail left.Thanks.
Keep in mind that the markings you have may have been used on tanks but not SPG’s…if it is the “devils head” emblem you are talking about, they weren’t used on anything but tanks…most of the time, Panzerjagers and StuG’s were used in the tank-destroyer battalion of the Panzer Division so they were not even organic to the Panzer Regiment…usually, these types of vehicles had at most, tactical numbers, crosses Division insignia, and perhaps a tactical insignia…but in many (most) cases, nothing was to be seen but crosses…
Damn!Too late.
