Tamiya 1:35 M4A3

This is my first ever armo build. I’ve done no weathering to it at all (as with all my models so far). It’s definatly not the greatest build but I thought I would share anyway… enjoy [:)]

Thanks for looking…

I like the color, which color did you use?

I used Acrylic XF62 Olive Drab

jeramieb,

Nice job for a first attempt. One thing you may want to correct, you have the tracks on backwards. The point of the chevron needs to point down.

Joe

Doh! [:-^] I just looked at the box and noticed you are right. Oops. [:I]

Good build, though. Especially for a first.

Don’t worry about the weathering, there is a time and place for everything. It took me eons to get the courage to dirty up a sparkling clean paint job. Overall looks nice and you will only continue to improve the more that you do.

Don’t worry about the weathering. You have a quality build in that M4.It appears to me you have mastered the basics.Try a little weathering on your next tank.I personally try to improve with each build.

I’ve kinda been moping around concerning my next build.I have found some inspiration in your M4.I really like the look of that 105mm main gun.I’m gonna order me one today.

Looks good to me, sure better than my first.

BTW, it’s an M4A3 not an M3A4 - that would make it a Stuart light tank[;)]

Looks pretty good. One other tip for you. The tail lights are not both red. Only the upper left oval has a red lens. The right side has two clear slits that look gloss black. The upper one is longer thnan teh lower. The left has the red lens on top and a smaller, clear slit below. The slits are black-out marker and stop lights.

You can see the same light set-up on this M24 Chaffee:

jeramieb,

I wouldn’t feel too badly. I pointed it out and have had to correct myself for doing the same thing.

Joe [:D] [:D]

Same here. After taking great care painting the tail lights on an M4,I found out I did it wrong as well. You’ll learn all you need to know on this forum.

Looks pretty good for first build… Just one suggestion looks a little shine try using a little dulecoat on it… Also, its a M4A3 not a M3A4 but hey thats minor…

But hey my first build went up against the nearest wall… [xx(]

I fixed the title of this thread to M4A3. I guess my dyslexia kicked in on that one. That bad part is that I was looking at the box when I named the topic. [:I]

Very nice build! Are you going to weather it, knock down the gloss, all that?

Wish my first AFV had looked that good!
