my first post here, although I have been lurking for many many years. I typically build aircraft and ships, but in 2022 I had a new energy to build tanks so I’ve recently started doing 1/35 Armor kits and thought it worth sharing here one of my latest.
This Tamiya kit was very crisp and all excellent part fits. Made for an enjoyable build.
I gave weathering a serious crack and I found the more I did, the more I saw that needed doing. I think I could keep going for another week on weathering which would send me insane. Anyway still learning but happy with progress so far.
I used Tamiya XF-60 Dark Yellow and Tamiya XF-88 Dark Yellow 2 for the overall coat. I’m using AK Streaking grime for some of the weathering and Tamiya XF24 Dark Grey for the paint chipping.
Oh wow, love the paint chipped off on the edge of the skirt and the turret. And the faded discoloured paint and the fabric texture to the lower skirts. All she needs is a little sand on the tracks and lower hull and skirts and she’s done- great job!
I like that, came out really well. I am glad you stopped tehre with the weathering, any more would have been over doing it. One pointer with the chipping though. The same solour was painted over the green and black temperate scheme, so thats what would show though any chips in the sand paint.
