That stuff is absolutely beautiful. I can say no more. (but probably will later)
[#ditto] to what subfixer said. And I wonder why I dont do the bigger scale kits. Ohhhhhhhhhhh I know now. Cause my girlfriend would kill me.[xx(]
Gives me hope. I have one sitting here I keep drooling over, the only reason I haven’t started it yet is I have about 10 kits in progress now. So many models, so little time.
Wow! That’s one impressive cockpit. The engine’s no simple thing either. Great work. Keep the pics coming.
Great progress so far. The cockpit and engine are super builds. If the finished bird turns out that well, it will be a fantastic model. Keep us posted on progress.
great looking cockpit and engine Jason
My goodness!! they look like photos of the full-size real thing!!! To be perfectly honest I don’t know if I have ever seen a 1/32 engine look so realistic.
Please send more pics in the future, of this and other works.

Awesome work! Keep sending the pics.
Looks really good! Thanks for sharing!
Looks outstanding Wayne!
I hope you don’t cover the engine up, after all that work, it’s definately worth showing off [:p]
That looks really great. Can’t wait to see it finished.
very nice. beautiful pics.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I am really taking my time and trying to get this Zero done and looking as good as possible.[;)]
Therriman - Once you actually get to start on this zero you will aboslutely love it. It is a great detailed kit out of the box. Just a couple words of advice from my experience so far that may help you when you do get to start on it…
I read and read and read the instructions I don’t know how many times… I see the darn things in my sleep. But since there are so many parts I figured that the more I stared at the instructions the more familiar I would hopefully be at trying to figure out which things I should do and at what time. Even tho…I did have one thing happen that I will explain below that is really easy to screw up.
I didn’t use regular model glue for any of this kit. I used Cyanoacrylate for it. There are SO many teenie tiny parts, especially in the cockpit, that regular glue would probably disfigure them[V] and that is definately something one doesn’t want to happen.
One of the trickier parts of the kit is the landing gear doors and the wing flaps. All of these involve some small PE parts and or small lengths of stiff wire. Some of the assembly is a little tricky, especially trying to sandwich in a very small piece of bent wire between two little landing gear door parts, without getting glue on the wire, your fingers, and the outer surfaces of the plastic parts [banghead]. This may sound silly but I just practiced putting the parts together many times without any glue just to find out the best way to get the crafty things assembled. If I can do it with my big fat fingers then anyone can[;)]
The last and most important thing I can tell you for now is to be absolutely sure of the orientation of the engine parts. It is EXTREMELY easy to get the cowling frames mounted up-side-down. I have been so careful on this kit and taking my time and thought everything was working out great. I got the engine done with the PE parts, glued on the exhaust pipes, and then went to glue on the cowling flaps. Things just didn’t look like they were supposed to. The exhaust pipes weren’t lining up with the flaps the way they were supposed to. After a while I finally figured out that I had gotten the two cowling frames up-side-down and boy I was sweating bullets [:(]
I got really lucky tho. If I had used regular model glue there probably would be NO WAY I would get the engine back apart without busting up a bunch of the fragile pieces. With the Cyanoacrylate, with very careful prying, scraping, and teasing I was able to get things apart and got the parts oriented they way they are supposed to be.[:)]
Thanks again everyone and Therriman, enjoy that Zero once you get to it [:D]
Good modeling,
Wayne
