Tamiya 1/32 Scale McDonnell F-4C Phantom - Col. Robin Olds - Finished

OUTSTANDING JOB. A fine tribute to Col. Olds. FOR ANYONE INTERESTED THERE IS AN F-4 IN PRIVATE hands doing the air show circuit done in that paint scheme. IIRC the actual aircraft is in the USAF Museum in Dayton OH. Col. Olds’ daughter was an USAF Acadamy graduate and was in the Middle East when a SCUD missle hit the HQ building she was in and she was killed. Thats family sacrifice for the country. Then there is the 5 Sullivan brothers. Again, a fine tribute to Col. Olds.

Very nice! One of the few jets I would build. Thanks for sharing.

There was an episode on AHC on the MIG trap flight and mission. Worth watching when it shows up again.

Didn’t realize she had been killed in action. She had comments on her Dad’s history and that flight at the end of it.

I’ll add a couple of facts if I may. Robin Olds retired from the USAF at the rank of Brigadier General and he was a TRIPLE ACE. Ditto on the documentary on how he tricked the North Vietnamese to come up and fight and get shot down. Its a great story.

Thanks, this was my third time building one of the Tamiya F-4 variants. Gradually getting better each time too. It was a great kit, and there will be a fourth too.
