Tamiya 1:32 P-51D Mods/Upgrades

Hi everyone, I’m building as the title states Tamiya’s wonderful 1:32 P-51, how ever I made a few adjustments to the kit that allow for more fun options. So if you are building this kit too, please check out the link and give this a try. It works great and is very simple to do.

Those are very good ideas. However, did you try putting the magnet in the pylon and the metal inside of the drop tank so that all would be out of sight? Or maybe put a magnet in both so that opposite poles attract.

Its a very small piece, and I did consider both options, you certainly could make them that way . The magnet size needs to be big to make a strong enough contact. But I only showed one way that did work for me, personally I thought it looked natural , but then again that’s just me

Actually, that was a very good idea…very inventive. A great way to make add-ons like drop tanks easily removable.

Well done…and thanks for the tip.

The little rare earth magnets are very handy, I get them from a place on the web called Amazing Magnets. But I keep them in a closed container and away from small children and pets, as they can cause serious injuries if swallowed, clamping things shut that ought to be opened.
