Tamiya 1/32 - F4C/D & F4E diff ?

Can any one tell me the differance between the Tamiya 1/32, McDonnel Douglas F4C/D & F4E, Thanx, Roman

The F-C/D has the same shape nose as the navy F-4J". The F-4E has the extended nose which houses the M61 20 MM cannon. The “E” also has the slotted horz stab. The cockpit is totally different in the “E” model. I have the Tamiya F-4C/D and F-4J which are very accurate. I do not have the F-4E kit so I can not say how accurate it is. I do have the Revelle F-4E kit and have discovered 27 errors/mistakes in that kit.

You got me thinking so I pulled out the F4C/D and F-4J kits and here is updated information. I am told the F-4E kit is the older non slatted version of the “E”. I don’t think Tymiya would have made the main fuselage as new, more than likely using the same one they made for the C/D/J. If so it will have the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) molded on the left side of the fuselage. The “E” did not have a RAT so that will have to be removed. All other parts, IE, cockpit, extended nose, nose gear doors and slotted stab would be included.
The C/D/J kits are all very accurate. The only thing I didn’t like was they molded patches on the airframe which would be a bear to remove without destroying a lot of detail. If the “E” model is as good as their C/D/J kits it should be an excellent kit.

Thanx Berny for the info
Sounds like both kits are well made
