Tamiya 1/32 bird cage corsair

Just started it today have had it since august 2, 2013 peaked inside before today, glad I did because the instrument decals were sadly lacking, but I find said decals at megahobby.com if anyone else has same problem go to afore mentioned web site and type in the search bar aic3208, and what will show up is ww2 u.s.n. instrument decals, they also offer them in 1/48, and I think they have them for ww2 army air corps.

I don’t worry much about that, because in every plane I have built, you can’t see the instrument panel unless you snoop inside with a penlight and magnifying glass. Many times I don’t even bother with the decals, just paint the panel black and go with that. I don’t spend a lot of time painting fancy interiors for the same reason. Once you close up the fuselage, it is difficult to see the details you worked on. But that’s just me.

But don’t let me discourage you- enjoy your project!

I’m builing the same kit. It’s great! Can I recommend checking out barracuda studios for you. They have a cockpit stencil kit that looks great. It adds a lot of time to the pit build but if you are interested in detailed cockpits then I think you will love it. I’ll be posting pics in my build log soon of the completed cockpit. Fyi the details on the instrument decals are printed on the backside of the decal. You wont see them in the sheet but when applied they do come through. Have fun. John
