I was at my LHS yesterday and saw a 1/25th scale RC Panther Ausf A. I was interested in it until I saw the price, 300 Euro.
I know Tamiya used to make 1-25 scale armor but they discontinued it. This kit is bowed in the newer Tamiya design box. I looked on Great Models and Internet Hobbies but saw nothing.
My question is this, is this a european only kit, or do they just not carry it? HAs anyone heard anything about this kit?
It’s Tamiya’s old 1/25 Panther A kit, upgraded a few years back with new electronics. I don’t know about the rest of the world, but there were plenty of them on sale here in Japan. It’s out of production now. As I recall, it sold for 26,000 yen (about $240 USD)here.

You won’t believe this. I just bought this tank three hours ago on EBay from a guy in Texas, who listed it not even 10 hours before. Paid $175 for the tank – and only $15.00 for the shipping. I’ve been looking for this kit for 6 months, searching several websites, both foreign and domestic, and could nover find one for less than $350 USD. I just happened to be combing through EBAY while I was at work this morning – and there it was – just listed.
