Ta 154 taking shape

Here are a couple pics of the Ta 154 from my “Fly by Night” project.

After squeezing the cockpit into the fuselage, I glued the halves. There are no alignment pins, so I glued it together with Tenax in sections about 1/2" at a time. When I added the engine nacelles to the wings, I needed a shim of thin sheet styrene. I also added a shim between the nacelles and the lower outer wing panels. If this isn’t done, the outer wings will droop (you can see this in the pics on the bottom of the box).
The coaming over the pilot’s instrument panel is PE. I added padding to it with solder. From the front, you can see that the instrument panel wiring is visible.
The nose cone is temporarily attached for painting. The cowlings are dryfitted (and the left one moved out of place because of the prop), and fit very well.

When it comes time to paint all three nightfighters in the project, I’ll probably use the entire new bottle of RLM 76 that I just got !

My next step will be painting all the RLM 02 areas (all gear legs, wheel wells on the Ta 154, nosewheel wells on the Me 262s).

Thanks for letting me share the progress !

bstrump - here’s a little better shot of the pit:

Philip - this is the 1/48 ProModeler (a Revell/Monogram label). This was an unrealeased Dragon kit originally.
