T72 firefighter ?

Hi all,

A little while ago I saw a strange looking vehicle in a mag I can’t remember… It was a T72 chassis on which two F4 Phantom engines (as far as I remember) were fitted to shut the kuwaiti burning oil wells down. The vehicle was painted red, making it a unique looking thing !

Unfortunately, despite websearches I found no pics of that beast

This sounds something like the old Soviet NBC decontamination vehicles for chemical warfare. I cant remember its nomenclature, but it was a T-55 hull with some sort of spraying apparatus that included a jet engine. Perhaps your T-72 firefighter is a similar machine on the later hull.

I saw something similar, except it was mounted on a T-34 chasis, and was used to put out oil fires in Kuwait…
