T Hot Rod 40-Year-Old Kit Re-Visited

Here is my next project. I found the remains of this 1/32 scale 1967 vintage Monogram Ford T Pick Up Hot Rod at an estate sale for 25 cents. I’m going to disassemble and restore/modified it. It is mostly complete. I will have to scratch-build a shift lever, radiator hose and a window and window frame. I will have to cast one front wheel/tire as half of one is missing. I will probably build it as a “Rat Rod” with flat black paint. I’m going to paint the rims red and build some chrome “moon” type hubcaps for it. Might try and scratch build some new headers for it?

Anyhow time to disassemble and clean up what I have.

I used to build these kits when I was a kid, this is going to be a fun little project for me.

OK…change of plan. I’ve decided to build it stock since it mostly complete. The shift lever shouldn’t be a problem and I think I can do a reasonable job on the window and frame. I believe a nice yellow paint job, black paint, silver wheels, wide white wall etc is the was to go. All because of an idea I came up with for a display base…

I know it’s a long shot but does anyone have a picture of the original box art?

Cool Old Build, can’t wait to see how it turns out

Bud

Looks like a fun build, cannot wait to see some progress on it as well.

Shouldn’t take long, should have some progress pics this weekend.

40-years ago I would of had this kit built with decals on in about 30 minutes. The parts would of been twisted off the trees and stuck together with tube glue. No painting.

I also got a remarkable deal on this kit. It cost 50 cents 40-years ago, so I got it for half price in 2006.

Stupid question… did you try a Google Image search using the RMX #####?

Or try searching pictures of old kits at Hobby Heaven?

All I can think of right now. Good luck!
