well i jumped into another build still have little things to complete on others but oh well
this is the dragon t80ud it is straight OOB i have to say that this kit drove me crazy the hull was warped and the side skirts did not want to line up right (a dremel tool fix them though)
besides these small probs it went together rather quickly i should be painting tommorrow afternoon
Go with the middle pic in your post. That is the camouflage of one of the tanks that fired on the russian “white house” during the failed coup against Yeltsin/Gorbachev. IIRC, #7 was the tank that fired shells into the building. I have only seen a right side photo of this tank with the #7 on what appears to be a square box (it does not look like a tool box). I’m not sure what is the left side of the turret.
Good progress. I have this same kit, so it’s good to see what it looks like builtup. I got it off some guy, who shipped a resin barell and two very old PE sets with it. As Kaleu said, I’ve heard that there are problems with the fit of the upper run of the tracks. Also, the wheel detail on the Dragon kit seems to be a little soft, at least on my example. I was thinking of replacing the wheels with a set of Trumpeter T-72 ones I have sitting around.
I second the vote on the middle pic for the camo. Let us know what you decide.
im going to go with the middle scheme but need help with the colors for the green i am mixing dark and light grenn 80/20 and the black just flat black but the yellow maybe flat yellow with some white added or a sand color with a little yellow or a lightened dark yellow any ideas guys
I am looking at the Concord T-80 book and it has some pictures of this pattern. The color doesn’t look yellow, instead it looks like desert tan. If you can get it, Tamiya field gray is a good color for russian green. HTH
