Need some help…How compatible is the Blast T-55 detail set (which is designed for the Tamiya offering) with the ESCI rendition? I have several of the older kits and would like to correct their obvious deficiencies and it appears that this set may help.
I haven’t tried the Blast kit, but I think it should be doable. The Esci and Tamiya kits look to be about the same porprtions. Here is a comparison of T-55 kits before the Tamiya came about, should give you some idea how they stack up.

I would go for it. May take some tweeking, but it should work.
I agree. It might not be the most perfect fit, and if anything, you may have a little bit more resin to remove to make the turret fit, but I see no reason why it would not work.

A better fit for the Esci kit would be the Verlinden T-55 update set. Verlinden advertises it for the Tamiya kit but it is actually designed for the Esci kit. They changed the kit name and increased the price. This I learned the hard way after buying it before reading any reviews.
