hey guys[:D] here is a bunch more pics of my models interior— the radiators busted my chops— took me almost a week to fit them — then the crossover pipe that joins the radiators did not fit – had to cut it and make the pipes from tubing-- the side mount support brackets also had to be scratched–some of the pics look the same as some i have already submitted, but there are subtle differerces and every thing here is glued in and pemanent-- a lot of the chassis detail can no longer be seen-[:(]-- i was wondering do you guys think i need to add more weathering to the motor compartment?-- i kind of like it clean-- thanks for looking-- any comments + or - are welcome-- treadwell[:P]
On the question of the engine bay and level of weathering, I have to admit I’m torn in my answer…on othe one hand, I think you should leave it as is to show off the detail, on the other the engine surfaces themselves look almost like “car show” clean at least in the pics. In the end I guess it’s all about how you intend to display it. [:D]
Always a pleasure to see an update of your efforts on this project. My only question is what will you do with your free time now that all you’ve got left to work on is the turret? [:P]
Two:Go Find a dirty engine in your area and wipe off the greese and grime into a jar, use some thinner and make a wash out of it. Appy liberaly with your airbrush for a realistic dirty engine effect. I would offer to send you some grime off an engine but all mine are clean. I dont like dirty engines. Plus a clean engine runs better.
Hope this helps. LOL
P.S. Your kit is looking pretty good so far, i Just wish you would use your talents a little more. You know try building something not box stock. Maybe you should move up to those skill level 2 kits.[dinner]
man oh man tread this is great stuff im blown away with the realism of it, my opinion from someone who trashes every vehicle i can because i like to beat em up is leave it be, this level of detail doesnt need to hide behind a lot of weathering it looks fantastic by itself.
Treadwell, you are really blowin’ my mind with this progress of yours! This is absolutely stunnin’, in some cases it’s like i’m lookin’ at the real thing! So impressive! [:D]
Clean or dirty, it’s totally up to you man, your the master!! [8]
thank you guys for the positive input[:D]-- it pumps me up dudes!!-- i have this holiday week off so i have had some extra time to build(between football games)!!— i finished the bulkhead between the motor/tranny – finished the the tranny-- hooked up the tranny spedo cable(pic #3), installed the tranny, but most important to me,all the prvious work on the brake/steering linkage(fitting ,measuring, etc)came together today and with a short prayer and some prodding with the exacto!!all the linkages lined up well and i felt a big sigh of relief–it has almost been 10 months since i made many of the pieces–colors still have to be blended together but you can get the idea— thanks so much for looking— all comments + or - are welcome-- thanks, tread[:D][:P]
Everythings great until those last two shots. [:(] Beautiful work hiding under that hull, I can’t get over how even the bolt nuts look real on the attachment arms.
I still think its a 1:1 scale T 34 you are building in your garage. Come clean Treadwell… let the truth be known…That motor looks alot like a V 12 out of a 32 Cadillac , and one has come up missing from a museum in a town not to far from you…humm…[#dots]
I just don’t know what to say. I hope you have documented this entire build as it would make for an excellent book. You should really consider looking for a publisher. There is nothing else like this out there of this I am positive.
