t-34/76 early pannier type supplemental fuel storage tank assembly

Gentlemen,

I am working on several DML/Cyberhobby T-34’s and was wondering about the half-round notches on the "bottom/undersides of the extra fuel tanks. The parts that fill these in and make a solid tank leave a seam. Fill or leave it showing? Internet references barely show these and I plan on mounting ten of these tanks on an STZ 1941 model. The rear eight will be mounted with the narrow edges showing and these semi-circles are Very visible. Any help would be appreciated immensely!
