Welcome to the Swedish Air Force Group Build!
This GB started in April 05 and is currently open-ended.
All scales and subjects are welcome, planes or helicopters, made in any country (it surtenly doesn´t have to be a SAAB, Sweden has imported lots of A/C like the Vampire, Mustang, Spitfire, Hercules, Venom, Hunter, Storch, Phönix, Catalina and so on)
The only rule is that they have to wear the Swedish “three-crown” national insignia.
Those who have joined me so far is:

Happy Modeling /Johan
Sounds interesting! But … with all the other GB’s ongoing, what start/finish-dates are we talking about? If it is sometime in the autumn, do count me in for several builds!
Otherwise, I have to combine some GB builds …
And would What Ifs be allowed? I have plans to build some of the planes that were supposed to be in use in SwAF. Wouldn’t a grey Zero or a nice splinter-coloured F-20 be great?!
Mike - I know what you mean with all the GB:s, and you´re in with a few more than I am.
There´s no rush, we could make this last the year out, or open ended. Drop in whenever you like.
You are welcome to do a “what-if” if you like, or combine GB:s for that matter, this may be a good time for me to do that F/A-18 we talked about before(although that is not a “true” what-if since it actually flew with Swedish markings)
I think I have a SAAB somewhere in my stash, but I’m starting to pack up for a household move so I can’t really start anything for a while…
If you let it run to the end of the year, or an open-ended one, I could participate once I get settled in (and set up) in the new house…
Good new for me, regarding the What Ifs! Thank you!
I have another thought regarding the Group Build:
• Does it have to be Air Force aircrafts? Can’t it just be Swedish GB instead? We have the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Customs and many other official and governmental users, and there might be someone interested in building something from those services.
For all interested, here are some links to model kits of “Swedish aviation”

kolja94, that´s allright, drop in when you are ready and got your thinges together You are most welcome.
mick, I suppose that it would be allrigth, after all they all share the same insignia, and it is on the badege so why not. And thanks for the links, great stuff. there´s also a list of kits on this page.

OK, Gilmund! Put me down for the following three builds:
Saab AJ 37 Viggen – Academy 4418 – 1/144 – SwAF, metal
Junkers Ju 87 Stuka, B 8 – 1/72 — What If; RSwAF 1941
Northrop F-20S Tigershark, J 38C – 1/72 – What If; SwAF 1981, splinter scheme
Mick, that sounds great, cant wait to see them.
I,m thinking of doing a 1/72 gripen, in flight with four AMRAAM´s on it. I´ve been wanting to do that since I saw a picture of it that I fell for. I will post it.
Thanks Gilmund - I’ll have to wait till I get unpacked to let you know for sure what I’ll be doing, because I forget exactly what I have in the stash, but I’ll be following along as much as I can till then.[:)][tup]
I have to finish that Hasegawa Draken…
Welcome [#welcome] Mick, mmaker and kolja98. This will be fun. Start whenever you are ready!
Thanks! I have already started on the little Viggen. Here is a (very bad) picture of it
.
Next thing I think will be to attach the nose gear and canopy. When I get the time! Unfortunately, there are a dozen other kits I have to finish before I finish this. Why is it so easy to start new projects, but so hard to finish them!?!
Ha ha[(-D] that is sooo true, why is that?
Can´t tell too much from the pic, but it looks like you´re making good progress. Did you do all that now? Is it the NMF that shines so brigt?
keep it up /Johan
Yes, it’s NMF that shines [8D]
And I actually didn’t do all that progress since the start of the GB, I had started before, but I have been working further on with the little beauty since you came up with the idea.
Hope it’s OK?
of course that´s OK, We´re here to have fun.
Hi guys, here is the pictures that is the inpiration for my build, it looks just beautiful.

I going to do it like on the picture: in flight, two sidewinders, four AMRAAMS, no fuel tank, gray scheme and insignias.
Here is what I´m going to use, the Italeri kit and a Hasegawa weapons kit for the AMRAAMS and launchers (I have to modify them a bit)

Take care /Johan
[wow] Looking great! [tup]
Heres my 1/72 Hasegawa Draken cockpit. It needs a little more detailing…

WOW is that 1/72… what did make the seatbelts of?
Great job /Johan
Thanks johan!
Seatbelts made from thin white metal sheet from wine bottles,
with the addition of PE buckles from Reheat.
