Surprise at work

Got a pleasant surprise today at work as a box arrived with my name on it from a co-worker I helped out of a work-related jam a couple of weeks ago. In it? A 1/48 B-17F “Memphis Belle”. I had been wanting this kit for a long time but it became that “One” kit that I just never got around to buying. Now I just need a good excuse to get sneak out of work. Hard to concentrate with the box in sight. Just goes to show: If you wait around long enough someone will buy it for you

You have good friend there.

Disco,

Please get me an application to where you work. All my co-workers keep calling me “toy airplane boy”. Clearly you work with more supportive people.

Eric

It’s like your co-worker knew you wanted it.[:D]

Well what makes this interesting is I’ve never actually met this co-worker. She works out of our Pittsburgh office and I’m in Denver. I was just able to help her out of a sticky situation. I guess she did some calling to ask what I was into. It would only take one look at my desk to put that puzzle together. She just happened to pick out the right kit on her first try. Well, there’s no such thing as a “wrong” kit I guess.

Nice. Have you informed her of her lucky guess in your thank you note?

Oh yeah. I sent her a thank you immediately. I also asked if there were any other projects I could help with…

“My co-worker in another city sent it to me honey!!!” I may need to use that one! [;)]

Awesome, love to here when people make an effort to thank others. Not just a random gift card but actually go through the trouble of researching.

Make sure to take some build pics and send them to her, let her know how much fun you got out of her gesture…

Your thank you note had better have been attached to some flowers!
