Supermarine/Daimler-Benz Spitfire

Gday

Has anyone modelled this ? :

I’ve seen two of these built up; one at an IPMS NATS and another at a local show. One was done the good 'ole-fashioned way (scratchbuilt conversion) and the other was done using this conversion set from Fusion.

I’ve got this set and it’s very nicely done.

bizarre!! that was really interesting, thanks for sharing seevee
as to modelling it. i never knew the thing even existed!![:p]
i wonder whether bob swaddling has seen this?

Bit of a different project!

Maybe one for 1/72, throw together a 110, a 109 and a Spit, would be a cheap and interesting project.

Nice project!

I’m thinking the Germans may have wished to get a few more of those airframes to complete the conversion on…it was a superior combination after all.

Maybe that was what Galland meant when he said in order to win the air war he needed Spitfires!!

Oh, I think it’s a safe bet he has! [:p]

Funny this comes up just now, the other night some of the locals were discussing the Spitschmitt as part of a possible common kit. (Group-build to the forum folks…)

lo vi…exelente idea para un futuro proyecto !!!

If anyone needs ‘how to’ pictures for the conversion, get hold of the Jan '04 edition of Scale Aviation Modeller International. A Brit aircraft modelling magazine available from sampublications via the net. A back issue, with mail, should cost around $5 -$6.
While you’re at it, order several different months worth, you’ll be surprised at the diversity of aircraft types covered, all with excellent photo’s.

SAMI is is a pretty cool rag, one more vote here…

In the march 2002 issue of Scale Aircraft Modelling ,there’s alittle blurb about it witha nice little picture.Seems its a captured Mk v… If you like Spits this issue has lots of neat stuff about them.
