This is a Hostaro 1/43rd scale resin and white metal kit.
The mold for the white metal wheels was wearing out when they were cast.

I machined the back sides to remove the extra material and open up the holes.

Once they were polished and painted I didn’t think they looked acceptable (wheel at the top) so I designed a new set in CAD and printed them (center).
I milled a set of outer rims from aluminum and painted the raised silver detail. I have metal center nuts for them too.

Watching this one. I had a long evening with the original in the Penske shop in Newtown Square, Pa. way back then on a visit with the Automotive Explorers. The AMC Javelin Trans Am cars were there, and the L&M Porsche 917-10 spider was being fitted with a new nose. We weren’t allowed to take any photos.
Those new wheels look great. Did you do the printing yourself? If so, what type of printer did you use for them?
Yes, I do all my own design and output. It’s just a little Photon printer.
